Kirk McClymont - President Kirk has over 20 years experience in the natural gas marketing field beginning with his creation of Natural Gas Transport in 1993 and culminating in being a founder of Stirk CNG. His expertise in negotiating with natural gas local distribution companies, gas procurement, hedging, and delivery of natural gas are instrumental attributes to make Stirk CNG successful.
Mr. McClymont’s early experience in the natural gas field began when he owned and operated the family farm for 17 years. The farming operation required the use of large volumes of natural gas to irrigate the crops. During this time there were changes taking place in the natural gas market place that allowed the “third party” delivery of natural gas to large end users. Mr. McClymont recognized the opportunity that resulted from these changes and created a cooperative buying group with about 60 area farmers. The group was formed into a company with Mr. McClymont as the managing member. The company grew and expanded its scope to include natural gas sales to large commercial, industrial, and public end users. The company was sold in 1996 to Interenergy at which time the company’s sales had expanded five times.
Mr. McClymont continued with Interenergy until they were sold in 1998. Working briefly for the new owners McClymont recognized an opportunity to form a new company for two electrical cooperatives that wanted to enter the natural gas marketing business. Midwest United Energy was created where McClymont worked as Director of Marketing until 2001.
In 2001, McClymont became a partner with Seminole Energy in their purchase of Post Rock Gas, LLC. The partnership flourished until McClymont sold his interest to Seminole in 2006. Since the sale, McClymont has worked as a consultant for Seminole in the role of senior marketing representative.
Kirk McClymont was born in Holdrege Nebraska where he attended Holdrege High School graduating in 1969. Attending the University of Denver he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with major in marketing.
